FA Cup - Third Round
Saturday, January 9, 1988

Swindon Town Norwich City

HT: 0-0
Attendance:  12,807

Swindon are denied victory over First Division Norwich in controversial fashion - Steve White's goal ruled out for handball in the build up - but HTV also focus on a superb performance from Nicky Hammond in goal. Meanwhile, Bobby Barnes continues to protest his innocence after being sent off in the game against West Brom.

After First Division Norwich drew at the County Ground to take their FA Cup tie with Swindon to a replay back at their Carrow Road home, few expected the Town to come back with the victory - two goals from Dave Bamber setting up the ill-fated Fourth Round clash at Newcastle that would haunt the club for years to come.
