Andy LONERGAN

Caretaker manager Ady Williams' only signing as Town boss, former England under-20 international Lonergan joined on a month's loan from Preston in November 2006, shortly after Peter Brezovan broke his arm in a match against Grimsby. Lonergan made his only Town appearance in a 2-1 home defeat against Hereford on 4th November. The following week, with Lonergan refused permission to play in the FA Cup by Preston manager Paul Simpson, new Town boss Paul Sturrock opted to continue with Phil Smith in goal after a decent performance. Lonergan was sent back north after suffering blurred vision in a Wiltshire Premier Shield clash with Salisbury, which prevented him from being named on the bench in the following league match.
