Central defender Robertson was Town’s first signing ahead of the 2017/18, penning a two-year deal to become David Flitcroft’s first signing as Swindon manager. It would not prove his most successful. Robertson had spent his career in the English lower leagues with a year’s spell at Ross County in his native Scotland, so seemed well suited to helping Town adjust to life in League Two. He began the season as backup to first choice centre halves Dion Conroy and Olly Lancashire, making his debut in the League Cup defeat to Norwich and his league debut four days later against Exeter. Before Christmas, he was largely a fixture on the bench with only occasional starts when either Lancashire or new signing Matt Preston weren’t available, but in the New Year he came much more into the first team reckoning, making nine of his thirteen starts before picking up an injury in mid-March that would keep him out for the rest of the season Starting the 2018/19 season injured with a fractured ankle suffered in pre-season training, Robertson never got near Richie Wellens’ first team and was loaned to Havant and Waterlooville in January to regain match fitness. Whilst at Havant, he was sent off in his second appearance and didn’t feature again for either club, before being released by Swindon in May 2019. After leaving Swindon, Robertson played for a few teams in the Northern Premier Division. PLAYING RECORD:
