Jo KUFFOUR

After a disappointing start to the 2001/2002 season that saw the Town draw at home to Colchester United and lose 3-1 at Bristol City, Osei-Kuffour, a small, slight but pacy striker, was signed from Arsenal on a three month loan deal. After making his debut as a substitute, replacing David Duke in a 2-0 home defeat by Oldham on August 25th, he marked his full debut by opening the scoring in a 3-0 win away at Bury. Osei-Kuffour started the next four games, but was rested for a midweek game at Port Vale, and never regained his place in the team. Apart from an LDV Vans Trophy game, the rest of his loan spell was spent on the bench, and he netted just one more time - when he rounded the keeper to score the vital third goal in a tremendous 3-1 away win at rivals Reading.
