Aaron OAKLEY | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Youth product Oakley first broke into the first team squad in October 2012, when he was named on the bench for a 2-1 defeat at Crewe - by the end of the season, the central defender had made his debut for the Welsh under-21’s, and had been named as an unused substitute for the Town on seven occasions. After suffering a stress fracture in his foot while playing in a youth team friendly, Oakley signed his first professional contract in June 2013 - only to suffer a recurrence of the injury later in the close season, the injury requiring surgery and pinning. When he returned to fitness in December, Oakley was loaned out to Chippenham in a bid to gain some fitness, and though the deal was initially for a month, he remained at Hardenhuish Park for the majority of the campaign. Oakley was released by Town at the end of the season and later joined Frome Town. He later played for Ytterhogdal in the Swedish lower leagues before taking his coaching badges, and has coached in the STFC youth system and in Sweden. PLAYING RECORD:
