Jake KEAN | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
A perennial understudy goalkeeper who had previously featured once in the Premier League and was used in rotation in the Championship for Blackburn Rovers, before undertaking a series of loan spells. Town had something of a goalkeeper crisis in April 2016 with injuries to Lawrence Vigouroux and Tyrell Belford leaving just rookie teenager Will Henry available to head coach Luke Williams. As a result, Swindon were given permission to utilise the emergency loan market and brought in Kean, who at this point was understudy to John Ruddy and Declan Rudd at Premier League Norwich City. He made his debut in the 1-0 loss to Bury and then played twice more, a 1-1 draw against Walsall before signing-off with a clean sheet in the 1-0 home victory over Chesterfield before Will Henry took over for the remaining two games of the season.
