Timi Max ELŠNIK | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Signed on loan from Derby County for the 2017/18 season alongside Kellan Gordon, in doing so, Elšnik became Swindon’s first-ever Slovenian player. When available and selected, the skillful central midfielder looked to bring a touch of class to Town’s attacking play, but early season injuries and Phil Brown’s reluctance to play him following the new manager’s arrival at Town restricted Elšnik to 22 league appearances, of which the Robins won 11, comparing favourably to 9 of 24 without him. Braces against Dartford in the FA Cup and Crewe Alexandra in League Two brought four of his five Town goals as Town finished just outside the playoffs, with Elšnik given a valedictory substitute appearance on the last day of the season before returning to Derby. He later played for Mansfield before returning to play in his homeland. PLAYING RECORD:
