Deon BURTON

With Andy King needing cover for the injured Sam Parkin in October 2003, combined with Peter Reid’s refusal to extend James Milner’s loan spell from Leeds United, King moved for the experienced Burton, who was a member of Jamaica's World Cup squad in 1998. After joining on a month's loan from Portsmouth, Burton made his debut in a humiliating 3-0 defeat at Chesterfield, and the rest of his spell wasn't particularly successful - in his four appearances Swindon only achieved four points - though in his final game, he did manage his only goal for the Town in a 2-0 win against Wycombe Wanderers at the County Ground.
