James BROPHY | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
London born Brophy joined Swindon in August 2015 - highly rated in non league football, the left-sided player signed a year-long contract and was a useful squad player having made the step up from playing Sunday League football just a year earlier - after taking over the reins in October, manager Luke Williams utilised him more regularly towards the end of his first season, after initial concerns over his fitness, before rewarding him with a two-year deal at the end of the year. Brophy got more game time in his second season, making 22 starts in the league, and also netting his first and only goal for the Town, in a 2-2 draw at QPR in the League Cup. After the Town's relegation to League Two, and Williams' subsequent departure, new boss David Flitcroft started Brophy in the opening matches of the 2017/18 season, before dropping him to the bench, and then allowing him to go to Leyton Orient on loan. Though he returned to make a few more appearances as a substitute, he was sold to the O's on a permanent deal in the January transfer window. PLAYING RECORD:
