Nationwide League Division Two
Saturday, April 28, 2001

Swindon Town Peterborough United
G.Alexander (7'), D.Invincibile (90')
HT: 1-0 A.Reeves (76' o.g.)
Attendance:  8,145   Referee:  F.G. Stretton

With Bristol Rovers and Cambridge both with games in hand, the Town need victory against the Posh to stand any realistic chance of staying in Division Two - but though Gary Alexander gives Swindon an early lead, a calamitous mix-up between Alan Reeves and Steve Mildenhall hands Peterborough an equaliser with just fifteen minutes remaining. With the game into injury time, and Swindon's Second Division status hanging by a thread, Danny Invincibile thumps a superb volley past Mark Tyler, sending the County Ground into raptures - the strike proving enough to retain the Town's place in the division, as Rovers go on to lose both of their games in hand.
